About me

I am a Senior Research Scientist at ByteDance Seed, where I work on foundation models, generative modeling, and large-scale machine learning for biomolecular and scientific problems. My recent work focuses on developing and training transformer and diffusion models for structured generation, including Protenix / Protenix-v1, open biomolecular foundation models, and PXDesign, a protein binder design system spanning generation and ranking.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024, advised by Prof. Jian Peng and Prof. Jianzhu Ma. My research spans geometric deep learning and multimodal generative modeling for structure-based drug design. Before joining ByteDance full time, I interned at ByteDance AI Lab and Tencent AI Lab, and was a short-term research scholar at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof. Kris Kitani. I earned my B.E. in Automation from Tsinghua University in 2018, where I worked with Prof. Xuegong Zhang.
